ring o' ring o' rosies

I think my dad has honed his icing skills to perfection! He added some small flowers to brighten up the cake.


These are the silver dragees he normally uses. They're hard, and sweet and every kid loves 'em.

My friend ordered this for her friends birthday. She wanted a chocolate cake and purple icing. For chocolate cakes, my dad only makes chocolate buttercream because he reckons it tastes better that way. And chocolate cake does not go with royal icing. So I decided to make the buttercream. It was a simple buttercream because I didn't have the candy thermometer required to make the Swiss Meringue Buttercream. But it turned out alright after I added some butter flavouring. I hope so at least. Normally he would use royal icing for the lettering but I happened to have gel icing in purple no less! So it all worked out and my friend told me it turned out great so yay for Rosie!
